Chemical Sensors Laboratory

OVERVIEW:

2 STUDENTS

1 PROJECT AS PI

1 COLLABORATIVE PROJECT

The chemical sensors laboratory explores the modification of metallic surfaces such as gold and platinum. The metallic surfaces are modified with organic compounds (mercaptos) by the process of Self-assembled Monolayers (SAMs) and are characterized by electrochemical and surface analysis techniques. Chemical sensors are valuable tools in the development of building blocks for new materials that are used by engineers and scientist to explore the world.
