Inter American University of Puerto Rico- Metropolitan Campus is an accredited institution and a member of the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE). MSCHE is an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). The Metropolitan Campus has been accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) since 1960. The reaffirmation of accreditation is scheduled for March 2023. As educator preparation providers (EPPs) the Metropolitan Campus of the Inter-American University of Puerto Rico is accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation. The accreditation status is effective between Fall 2021 and Spring 2026. The next reaffirmation for accreditation will take place in Fall of 2025. IACET is a non-profit association of international prestige committed to the quality of continuing education and training programs. The Board of Postsecondary Institutions (JIP) approved the Renewal License to the Inter-American University of Puerto Rico to continue operating as a postsecondary education institution in Puerto Rico. The license was granted for five years (2022-2027), for academic programs of the campuses, including the Metropolitan Campus. The National Accrediting Agency of Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) accredits the Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology and the Professional Certificate in Medical Technology at the Metropolitan Campus of the Inter-American University of Puerto Rico. Upon completion of the Program, students are eligible to take the professional certification examination offered by the Puerto Rico Board of Examiners for Medical Technologists and the American Society for Clinical Pathologists (ASCP).
